Advertising becoming more bilingual

A headline written in 1980 touring advertisers reaching out to Hispanic consumers was a sneak peak into what has become a multibillion-dollar industry.
Back then, local advertisers were beginning to toy with the idea of marketing directly to what was a market of about 300,000 valley Hispanics by advertising on Spanish language radio and television stations. But it was rare to see a brown face on a billboard or on any other English language media at that time.
